Academics

Sacred Heart School of Glyndon provides our students in grades PreK-3 through Grade 8 with a academically rigorous Catholic Education that challenges them daily and helps our students to reach his or her full potential: academically, spiritually, and morally. Our mission at Sacred Heart is to develop the unique, God-given gifts of each student in a safe, nurturing, and diverse environment through innovative academics, service to others, and spiritual preparation for fulling life that follows in the footsteps of Jesus Christ.

As a part of the Archdiocese of Baltimore the academics at our school incorporates the course of study developed and approved by the Division of Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Our Catholic faith is the focal point of our education process, and it permeates all curriculum areas.

Our Curriculum is developed by the school faculty under the leadership of the Sacred Heart School administration. Basic subjects and time allotments are established in concert with the Archdiocesan Course of Studies and the regulations of the Maryland State Department of Education for non-public schools. Curriculum content is developed through faculty selection of appropriate grade level materials.
